2006 meeting of the rivers

The Sangam yoga community evolves over the years in its unique Battersea space.

|    Centre, Shala Story

Between 1997 and 2006 the Sangam (meaning Meeting of the Rivers) is the epicentre of the South London yoga scene. A strong and lasting community evolves in this bohemian warehouse space just off Battersea Rise. During 2006, it is with great sadness that the centre has to move on to new premises. It is the end of an inspiring era. Thank you to Denise Christian and Roberta Giannotti who apprenticed here and to Sabel and Jennifer, Easter Bonnifield, Ingrid Lewis and Liz Lark for their teachings in this space.
