Yoga alliance & CPD COURSES
Yoga Alliance & CPD requirements
Our Yoga Teachers Trainings are registered with Yoga Alliance (USA), which is the largest governing body and is internationally recognised. All RYT’s (Registered Yoga Teachers) and E-RYT’s (Experienced Yoga Teachers) accredited with Yoga Alliance are required to take CPD’s to maintain their credentials and registration with this governing body. This includes gaining 75 hours of CPDs within the first three years after initial registration. This should be comprised of 45 hours of teaching yoga and 30 hours related to the following categories:
- Techniques, Training and Practice
- Teaching Methodology
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics
Meeting the Yoga Alliance's CPD requirements
Your 30 hour CPD requirements can be achieved in studio or via distance learning. All hours accrued will need to be documented with your Yoga Alliance Membership account. The Shala School of Yoga’s CPD modules are the perfect way to be able to meet these criteria. We offer courses that cover the educational categories and students can either study in-studio, online or hybrid.
We know it may feel onerous to keep up with registration requirements however it can also be rewarding to know that the aim of CPDs is to help you grow and evolve as a teacher. CPDs offer a great chance to connect with others, share, learn and possibly even collaborate with others in a career path that though highly rewarding can also involve working in silo. CPDs offer a chance to ensure standards of teaching are kept high as well as a chance to learn from the ever-evolving research and methodology that nourishes the yoga world.
