300-hour Yoga Teacher Training | Advanced Course

Our unique, 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training (level 2 yoga teacher training) allows you to create a personalised 300-hour modular based advanced teacher training course, where you can further your studies with a team of inspiring teachers as and when you have the time, funds and inclination. On completing your 300-hour training, you can register your 200 hour + 300 hour Yoga Alliance courses to certify as a 500-hour qualified teacher.
The flexible structure of our advanced trainings means there is just one mandatory core module (Enhanced Skills) and then you can choose from a selection of 1 to 6 day teacher training courses IN STUDIO at The Shala, HYBRID or VIRTUAL livestreamed. You need to have already completed a Yoga Alliance accredited 200 hour course and then all hours accrued from individual modules are gathered towards a 300-hour certification, from which you can claim RYT-500-hour status. Each module is also a certified stand-alone course, should you decide not to go for full 500-hour status.
This diverse and flexible 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training programme will give you the opportunity to continue your education and delve deeper into specialist topics d of your choice, creating an advanced portfolio to master yoga teaching as a life path, career and practice. Our Mission
Our mission is to cultivate teachers to truly find their unique and authentic voice, supporting and inspiring you to follow your own passions within the vast subject that is yoga. We are committed to passing on our years of teaching experience and empowering yoga teachers to evolve and deepen their knowledge on their path as teachers.
A 200-hour Level 1 training is just the beginning of a teacher’s journey and our Level 2 programme is devised to ensure continued growth and evolution happens at a pace that is sustainable and attainable. The programme will continue to challenge, refuel and inspire you as a teacher, deepening your knowledge, increasing your confidence and nurturing and supporting you on your yogic path to be the best teacher you can be.

How the 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Programme Works
In order for you to attain a 300-hour level 2 yoga teacher training certificate, there are just 60 mandatory core hours and the rest of the hours can be gathered from a broad selection of our courses, taken in any order, in the UK, online and abroad and at any point of time (within a period of 5 years). You can effectively create your own bespoke course: choose the focus, choose the dates, even choose the location and spread the payments.
Enhanced Skills Core Module
There is a 6-day Enhanced Skills Core module of 60 hours that is mandatory for completion of our 300-hour yoga teacher training programme. This Years Enhanced Skills Core module starts on 17 September – 13 November 2022.
The course usually take place over three weekends online and runs once a year. This can be taken at any point in your training journey with us but we recommend you do this part of the training in your first year if you can.

These modules can be stand-alone Yoga Alliance qualifications, if you choose not to go for the full 300 hours and register as a 500 RYT teacher.

Benefits of Becoming a 500-RYT
After completing a 200 hr-teacher training, most teachers are still hungry for more knowledge and find themselves yearning to further their understanding of all the many layers that are so integral to the practice of yoga. By completing The Shala’s 300-hour yoga teacher training course, you can delve deeper into the areas of the practice that you are personally interested in and gain skills and knowledge to help you create a meaningful and purposeful vocation.
If your 200-hour is accredited by the Yoga Alliance (USA), the 300-hour training (level 2 yoga teacher training) will allow you to gain a 500-hr certificate accredited by the Yoga Alliance (200 hr + 300 hr = 500 hr certificate). This will strengthen your credibility and expand your knowledge as a teacher. The bespoke nature of the course allows you to ignite the areas that you feel passionate about teaching to students, helping you to create a sustainable and rewarding life path as a yoga teacher.

- 200 hour Yoga Alliance registered certificate to gain accreditation with Yoga Alliance
- Students with a 200 hr qualification not registered with Yoga Alliance are also welcome but may not be able to apply for the Level 2 certification

- If your application is accepted, you will be sent a link to pay the deposit which confirms your place on the core module
- For each individual module you choose you simply sign up via the individual webpage
The mandatory core module is £495. The total cost of the course will be dependent on the modules you select – see pricing for each individual module.
- A deposit is required for registration on to each module.
- All module payments must be paid in full by the start of each course
- After you have signed up for 3 or more modules with a value of more than £395, then you will receive a 10% discount on all subsequent module bookings.
Each time you complete a course, your hours will be logged. On completion of your 300 hours you will receive a 300-hour Level 2 certificate and you will be able to claim RYT-500-hour status. Our Advanced training is registered with Yoga Alliance (US) and Yoga Alliance Professionals (UK).
As a student of our training course, you consent to your contact details (name, email and phone number) being passed onto our partners, Yoga Alliance US and Yoga Alliance Professionals, so they can contact you directly and invite you to register as a Trainee and Teacher. Please note that you have the option to opt out of this registration process and it does not invalidate your certification.
Teacher Trainings at the Shala are run independently and all payments for training services are accepted by the Shala on behalf of the individual teachers. The teacher’s terms are given below. In the event that you wish to cancel any course, please email the Shala as soon as possible, stating your reason for cancellation and providing medical notes where relevant. The refund policy for all courses is as follows:
- With 12 weeks or more notice: the fee minus the deposit will be refunded
- With less than 12 weeks notice the full fee will be payable. We will do our best to reallocate your place and if we are able to, we will, at our discretion, refund the full fee, minus the deposit, minus a 10% admin charge
- Course leaders reserve the right to cancel the course at any point. If the course is cancelled prior to starting the course, refunds will be issued in full including deposits.
- Regardless of the reason for cancellation, a refund cannot be offered for compensation of airfare, hotel bookings or other travel expenses
- In the highly unlikely event that the course is cancelled by us partway through due to extenuating circumstances, we will a) defer the rest of the course or failing that b) refunds will be given on a pro-rata basis based on how much tuition has been received
- The deposit is non refundable but can be transferred to another person
- The remaining balance is refundable up to 1 month before the event.
- Cancellation 2 – 4 weeks before the event: 50 % of the balance in refund only
- Cancellation less than 2 weeks before the event: no refund
We are fully committed to providing the most accurate experience on the course based upon the description and we encourage open and honest communication throughout. Should you wish to make any complaints or raise any issues, please follow the procedure laid out below so we can find a resolution as quickly as possible.
You may involve someone else to support you at any stage.
Stage One: Speak to the teacher training manager by emailing teachertraining@theshala.co.uk concerned within 3 days after your experience and try to resolve informally. The teacher training manager will aim to come back to you within 2 working days with a resolve. If you are not satisfied with the response you have received, follow stage two.
Stage Two: Outline the details of your complaint by email to the teacher training manager who will investigate the complaint. Your complaint will be acknowledged within 3 working days from the date it is received. Please include the following information in your email:
- The date(s) that the incident happene
- Class/course/workshop the complaint stems from
- Why you are complaining and what resolution you would expect?
- Whether you want to make the complaint anonymously or not ( in the case of anybody at risk we have the right to break confidentiality in order to try and prevent the risk)
The teacher training manager will then investigate the complaint through reviewing the details, and in some cases possibly writing to the tutor or person about whom the complaint has been made. The letter will outline the main elements of your complaint and ask for a full written response.
At this point, if further relevant information comes to light, you may be asked for your comments to ensure the investigator has a balanced understanding. When your response has been received, the investigator will consider all the information available to them and make a decision.
The response will include the following information:
- Details of the investigation
- A decision about whether the complaint was upheld or not
- The reason for the decision
- The re-dress, if appropriate, will be offered to you, for example, an apology, additional help or directing you to other sources of advice or support
- Any other action that may be taken in light of the complaint
If it is not possible to provide a full answer to your complaint within 30 working days, the letter will outline reasons why and give a date by which a full answer is expected.
