Gingi continues his trips to India on a pilgrimage seeking out ashrams and yoga centres wherever he travels. This leads him to meet many sadhus and swamis and fascinating characters – some enlightened and some most unenlightened! Along the way in Hampi, Karnataka, he comes across an Australian student of Sri K Pattabi Jois who invites him to trade tai chi with ashtanga lessons. The tai chi lessons never happen. Gingi is blown away by ashtanga and is insatiable to learn this practice. Here are his first sketchy sketches of the standing sequence hastily jotted down in his journal with Guruji’s name at the top.
