We may have taken a break from running retreats this year but our next retreat offering should (hopefully) make up for the gap year! This March we will be returning to our all-time favourite retreat venue – Ulpotha, a sustainable eco-village/retreat centre in the heart of Sri Lanka, which has laid claim to being “the best yoga retreat in the world”. Ulpotha is a retreat in every sense of the word… a time and place to enjoy life and health, and live by the natural rhythms and ancient rituals of the land. Far removed from modern civilisation (no mobiles, no internet, no electricity!) this place is as peaceful, idyllic – and soporific – as it comes.

There is no strict regime, it’s all about going with your own flow. On arrival you will be given a sarong – and your retreat begins. Yoga classes with Gingi will be offered each morning and evening and the time in between is all yours: read in a swingbed, have a massage, swim in the lake, bird-watch, explore the surrounding villages by bike, take a jungle walk up to the temple, have Ayurveda treatments, order outfits from the local tailor and enjoy amazing vegetarian Sri Lankan meals. Mostly this place is about slowing down completely, reconnecting to your inner landscapes and nurturing your body and soul in an idyllic setting with nothing but the sounds of the jungle to distract you. Pure magic.
