Yang to Yin Class

This class blends the complementary elements of Yang and Yin to address the body’s tissues in diverse and effective ways. We begin with a dynamic Yang flow (Vinyasa-style) to build fluidity, strength, and mobility, helping to break up any remaining rigidity. Then, we will settle into a seated or lying position for a body scan, cultivating mindfulness and self-awareness.
The practice then moves into Yin – a slower-paced practice where postures are held for extended periods to deeply stretch and release tension in the connective tissues, joints, and fascia. This practice encourages you to slow down, soften, and cultivate a meditative presence, allowing for deep relaxation, restorative healing, opening up of tight areas and releasing tension.
Each class is unique, with a focus on different areas of the body and varying themes to improve flexibility, mobility, and strength. The class is open to all levels, with modifications offered to accommodate individual needs. We finish with a slower-paced Yin sequence, bringing calm and relaxation before a well-deserved Savasana.
The combination of these yang and yin styles creates the perfect balance between active strength and deep surrender, helping to cultivate flexibility, mental clarity, and a profound sense of well-being.
