Ashtanga Vinyasa | Rooted in Practice

with Kate Towers | 2:00 - 4:00 pm | Saturday 17 January 2026 | Price: £30

An Accessible Approach to the Primary Series through the Iyengar Lens

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic system of postural yoga created by Pattabhi Jois who was a student of Krishnamacharya.

It’s built around set sequences – Primary, Intermediate, Advanced – that link breath and movement in a flowing, focused rhythm. In this session, we’ll explore the Primary Series, starting with Sun Salutations A & B, then moving through standing postures.

But this isn’t a traditional run-through. Instead, we’ll slow things down, hold postures longer than the traditional 5 breaths, and focus on alignment, functional movement, and breath – drawing from the Iyengar method to explore props, structure, and support.
