Reignite Your Teaching, Reawaken Your Body

Are you wishing to move towards a more intuitive Somatic Yoga practice to create balanced, flowing sequences that foster deeper connection and feel less formulaic? Would you like to rediscover your confidence and creativity as a yoga teacher while also cultivating a greater awareness of how your body feels in movement?

This immersive two-day Somatic Yoga CPD course allows you to move and teach from embodied awareness. You’ll learn how to reframe sequencing as an expressive, responsive art through somatic yoga exercises and mindful movements designed to release tension and awaken sensitivity throughout both the body and mind. You’ll leave with practical tools to design classes that are not only unique but deeply supportive for your students’ nervous systems, muscles, and emotional wellbeing.

This course can be taken as a stand-alone CPD module or allocated as a 15-hour elective within our 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training programme, ideal for yoga instructors seeking to integrate Somatic Yoga principles into their teaching practice.

Why Somatic Yoga Learning Matters for Yoga Teachers

Somatic learning invites us to shift from “performing” yoga to feeling, sensing, and discovering Somatic Yoga from within. It’s a mindful movement practice that enhances body awareness and encourages a deeper connection between mind and body. For yoga teachers and yoga instructors, this approach offers:

  • Embodied confidence – teaching grounded in your own inner awareness rather than memorised scripts, allowing your Somatic Yoga practice to arise naturally
  • Sustainable practice – understanding how somatic movement supports injury prevention, relieves muscular tension, and promotes longevity in traditional yoga practices.
  • Nervous system attunement – learning how to regulate and guide students toward safety, ease, and resilience through gentle movement and conscious breathing.
  • Intuitive freedom – unlocking spontaneous somatic yoga exercises that flow intuitively and help to release tension.
  • Deeper student connection – empowering students to trust their bodies, cultivate internal awareness, and discover yoga as a living, evolving somatic yoga practice.

Somatic learning transforms yoga into an exploration of being rather than a fixed performance of poses, helping teachers rediscover the joy of moving with presence, curiosity, and self-compassion.

Benefits of Somatic Learning for Yoga Teachers

Embodied Confidence

Somatic awareness helps you teach from lived experience rather than rote memory. Through Somatic Yoga practice, you’ll feel more grounded, authentic, and adaptable in your classes. This embodied confidence supports a deeper connection with your students and encourages you to teach with greater ease and intuition.

Nervous System Regulation

Somatic Yoga exercises calm the nervous system, helping to balance both the body and mind. These gentle, mindful movements cultivate presence and self-compassion, supporting resilience and helping prevent burnout for yoga teachers and yoga instructors alike.

Creative Freedom

By tuning into internal sensations and body awareness, you open new pathways for sequencing and transitions. Somatic movement encourages curiosity and fluidity, replacing routine sequences with inspired, expressive flow that reflects the true art of Somatic Yoga.

Sustainable Practice

Somatic approaches reduce muscular tension and encourage responsive movement practice. This means less risk of injury for you and your students, a sustainable yoga journey, and greater self-care through mindful, adaptive practice.

Deeper Student Connection

When you teach somatically, you empower students to trust their own body awareness and inner wisdom. Each class becomes an exploration of being rather than performance, combining traditional yoga postures with principles of somatic movement, nervous system regulation, and mindful practice.
