Community Weekend – Pick Your Price Classes from £5

A Shala/Vahni Community weekend featuring an exciting range of classes taught by our 200-hr teacher trainees on their graduation weekend. Pick your Price from £5 per class and join us for a weekend of yoga, tea and social connectivity.

The Shala is a space to unplug from tech and freely plug in to social connectivity and this weekend we invite you do just that.  As the years have rolled on (25+ of them!), the indefinable magic of COMMUNITY has been integral to everything we do. 

For this Community Weekend, we have a jam packed and exciting schedule of 20 low cost classes with our awesome teacher trainees who are coming to the end of their Level 1 teacher training.

Join us for a cup of tea, social connection and a wide range of yoga classes including Elemental Yoga Flow, Grounded Yin, Muse & Move, Deep Rest & Release, the Fire Within and much much more.

This weekend marks the final graduation weekend of our teacher trainees. They are an inspiring and diverse group aged from 20s to 50s, who have come together to share their passion for yoga, each bringing with them their own life stories, personality and commitment to the transformative power of yoga.  They have many years of personal practice, have worked incredibly hard, shared, cried, laughed, explored, opened up, reevaluated, grown, healed, and brought so much wisdom, compassion and energy into the Shala School during these intense training months. They have also offered classes within their communities in some amazing places including a mosque, a buddhist monastery and a Hindu temple.

Each class is priced on a sliding scale of £5 and £15 per class to cover overheads of the studio.  Come with an open mind and heart. Pay what you can afford. 

If you book and are unable to join, please remember to cancel so the low cost space can be freed up for someone else. Thank you.

Saturday 14 March

Lucky energetic flow
Orla | All Levels

Yoga in March is an excellent way to boost energy, align with the renewing, transformative, and often fiery energy of the approaching spring season (in the Northern Hemisphere), and cultivate good fortune. Orla’s practice encourages connecting with the natural world, fostering a “lucky” mindset, and celebrating the coming of spring. It will combine looking at the Celtic Wheel Series by using soma movements and restorative shapes to connect to the changing, lengthening days.

Creative vinyasa flow
Helena | All Levels

An expressive vinyasa flow blending creative sequencing with gentle somatic movement, inviting you to move with curiosity, awareness and ease. A space to connect to yourself and others, move with intention, and explore a sense of freedom through breath-led movement. 

We’ll begin with grounding postures and gradually build into an uplifting, energising flow that encourages intuitive, fluid movement. A dynamic class designed to help you feel good in your body, with adaptable options to keep it accessible for all levels. Leave feeling grounded, spacious and reconnected.

building strength for jump back & forward
Deepak | All levels

(Some practice of headstands would be good but not necessary)

Using different movements to build abdomen and shoulder strength with breath awareness to prepare the upper body for doing push handstands and the famous jump back and forwards of vinyasa flow. It helps us explore our muscles and breath in both challenging and fun ways.

Grounded Strength Vinyasa
Jade | All Levels

An earthy, grounded flow guided by root chakra energy, blending dynamic, breath-led movement with strength and presence. Balanced with quieter, reflective moments, the practice holds space to connect authentically with the body, leaving it feeling fully embodied and aligned.

Gentle Retreat Flow
Chathumini | Beginners

This supportive 60-minute “retreat” practice blends breathwork, Sun Salutations, hip openers, and specific poses to release tension and nurture meditation readiness, with props and modifications for all levels. Ideal for participants seeking softness, ease, and personalised variations to wind down.

Conscious Connections & Mindful Movements & a little treat for the senses
Natasha | All Levels

A peaceful class to awaken and calm your senses. Connect mind, body and breath through movements to loosen the joints and work to help release energetic blockages (based on the classical practice  Pawanmuktasana).

Grounded Yin – Finding Joy in Stillness
Ela | All Levels

A slow yin practice with long-held poses and a grounding thread, inspired by a moment at the bottom of the Earth in Antarctica. We’ll move through stillness into a sense of openness, calm, and quiet gratitude. Variations will be offered.

Finding your Flow
Kathryn | All Levels

This class will support you to explore a vinyasa flow yoga practice, which focuses on breathing, flexibility and strength. It is suitable for practitioners of any level and aims to boost your physical and mental wellbeing.

Finding a personal practice with a flow that is an energising choose your own adventure.

Ashtanga inspired Vinyasa
Danielle | Intermediate

Beginning with an Ashtanga style warmup, a warrior dance working towards a peak pose, soothing forward folds and twists, meditation and relaxation.

Daniela loves to direct breath and flow, weaving in a little philosophy, creativity and hands-on assists to deepen the practise.  She aims to be warm, smiley and make you feel at ease, whilst helping you work and strengthen, leaving you feeling great 🙂

Deep Rest & Release
Ellie-Jai | All levels

This gentle-paced class will blend hatha-style and restorative yoga, focussing on letting go and renewal through deep rest and relaxation. Ellie-Jai will guide you through postures focussing on hip-opening and releasing back, neck and shoulder tension, holding some poses for longer to allow for deeper flexibility and mind-body awareness. We will finish with deep relaxation, including guided meditation and an extended period of time in savasana using restorative yoga techniques.

A gentler paced class inviting our bodies to find movement, energy and rest.

Feel Good Flow
Hannah | Level 1

This is a relaxed, Feel Good Flow class to gently warm up your body and ease into movement. We’ll move with the breath, try a few playful transitions, and keep it light so you leave feeling warm, open, and a little more joyful than when you walked in.

Re-Connect - Gentle Flow for Body & Soul
Gergana | All Levels

This class is a gentle flow that will help you tune into your body and connect to it; it is a calming sequence for the mind that will leave you refreshed and relaxed.

This class is a gentle flow and exploration of the self through Asana’s, embodying the experience of the subtle body, with an emphasis on a gentle expanding of and ease in movements.

Rise as the Sun, Shine as the Moon – Awaken your energy with a circular journey around the mat that begins with a dynamic flow to build heat and strength then shifts into a slow, cooling practice to transition from effort to ease and ground the body.

Muse & Move - A Vinyasa Flow
Emery | All Levels

Experience yoga as a moving meditation, exploring a theme inspired by the turning of the seasons and the natural world. Accompanied by live instrumental music, this vinyasa-style class weaves together breath work, dynamic sequencing, all-body flows, atmospheric sounds, and narrative guidance to connect your practice to a seasonal theme and to discover storytelling through mindful movement.

Hands-on assists may be offered throughout this class.

Merve | All levels

A gentle, mindful yoga-inspired class combining breath, fluid movement, stretching, and balance. We explore the mind, body, and spirit with compassion, without judgement, and through self-discovery, intuition, movement, stillness, and sensory awareness, ending with relaxation and visualisation.

'The Fire Within'
Ellie | All Levels

A dynamic Vinyasa flow to ignite your inner fire. Class will be made up of a series of breathwork, asanas and a guided meditation. Join Ellie to step into courage and ignite individual spark, so we can light the way for ourselves and others.

Women’s Yoga: Vitality & Balance
Alina | Beginners

A women-focused yoga class designed to support female health, hormonal balance, and vital energy. Through gentle movement, breath awareness, and mindful exercises, participants will reconnect with their bodies and leave feeling grounded and refreshed.

Tai | All Levels

A slow, mindful flow designed to help students reconnect with their breath, move with awareness, and settle into deep relaxation through guided visualisation.
