Ashtanga and Ashtanga Self-Practice Yoga Teacher

Izzie started practising yoga in 2012. Having done ballet and dance until the age of 18, she thought that yoga would be a good alternative for staying flexible and fit but found that it gave her so much more than that. Her consistent Ashtanga practice has helped her through periods of grief and anxiety and she loves how it teaches her patience, self-respect and dedication.

After a few years living abroad and practising at various places, she finally found her teachers Gingi Lee and Inna Costantini at The Shala, with whom she maintains a regular practice. In 2020, she felt called to do her teacher training at The Shala under the guidance of Gingi Lee and Kath Roberts. She fell in love with sharing the practice, seeing students develop and feeling a deeper connection to others as well as herself. Izzie teaches Ashtanga in an accessible way and believes that hands-on assists are an essential component and something she has found very healing in her own practice.
