Somatic Yoga

Unlike traditional yoga poses, the movement in this class is nonlinear and exploratory — guided, yet allowing space for you to follow your own impulses and discover what feels authentic in your body.
In our fast-paced lives, it’s easy to become disconnected or numb to our own sensations. This practice invites you to slow down, tune inward, and come home to yourself. Through somatic exercises and breathwork, you’ll gently unwind stress, anxiety, and held tension in the nervous system — restoring a sense of safety, ease, and presence.
Inspired by Peter Levine’s principles of Somatic Experiencing, this class emphasises grounding and nervous system regulation. Some postures may be held for longer, much like a restorative or yin practice, while other movements flow freely in circular or spiralling patterns.
In this class, we explore:
Hips & Pelvis – to release stored tension and reconnect with creative energy.
Heart – to soften emotional holding and expand self-compassion.
Throat – to open expression through breath and sound, supporting confidence and authentic self-expression.
This class is suitable for all levels and offers a deeply nurturing space to reconnect with the wisdom and language of your body.
