Alexa highly recommends if you can start reading these books, read while you are studying and finish in your own time.

What to Bring

  • comfortable yoga clothes
  • a water bottle
  • notepad & pen
  • please ensure that your phones are in silent mode to avoid any disruption to others.
  • yoga mat – this can be stored at the Shala while the course is running (If you forget your mat, you may use a studio mat)
  • if you wish to bring a packed lunch you may store this in the fridge – there are plenty of eateries in the area (see link from button below).
  • all other props are provided

IN STUDIO | Access to the Shala & Studio Etiquette

  • The access code to the door at street level is 0119 (there are two keypads at the door, please use the keypad on the right)
  • The access code to the door on the third floor is C01XZ (top lock)
  • If the door does not open, then the bottom lock is locked, and you will need to wait until a member of staff arrives
  • Please save these codes on your phone. A member of staff may not be available to let you in if you are running late, etc.
  • You can read more useful information (including transportation and food and accommodation recommendations) from the button link below
  • arrive 10-15 minutes early so we can start promptly at 10 am. It is very disruptive for the tutors and the group if students arrive partway through our first session
  • note that the reception area is a food free zone
  • keep the studios tidy during the training – it is not always possible for our cleaners to get in during these intensive training periods
  • please refrain from mobile phone usage in the studios
  • The Shala School of Yoga and course leaders reserve the right to photograph or film sessions for website and marketing purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform the teacher at the start of the course so we can ensure you do not feature.

Course Resources

  • You will be given the manual in studio
  • This course includes option to attend 2 of Alexa’s pregnancy classes at the Shala. You can check her clases at the bottom of her page HERE and Use this code when booking: PREGYTT24

Course Homework

  • As part of your learning journey we will ask you to participate/observe at least 4 pregnancy classes with different teachers. This is so you can feel the effects of the class and get some practical knowledge.
  • You will also get chance to practice on your peers as part of the training. This is great for checking your own integration of knowledge and to get some practice and to get some feedback in a positive way.
  • You will be asked to do a final written assignment which includes recording yourself teaching a 75mins class. All details will be given to you on the course but please note again that this is for your own learning and not a pass/fail environment. Nothing to stress about just a way of getting some valuable, practical experience.
  • Students will be expected to complete 75% of the course to be able to get the certification.
  • In an information overloaded world I will try and keep admin comms short and sweet and to the point but at any time if you need support/have more questions/need anything in relation to your training with us you can message on this email and we will try our very best to help.
  • You will also have plenty of time to get to know Alexa and ask questions to her and the other faculty.
