  • Saturday 15 February 2025 | 11:30 -6:30 pm | IN STUDIO Live session

Course Preparation

  • Watch (and hopefully practice with) the recorded content to familiarise yourself with enough practices to put together your own class for the demographic you intend to teach.
    • PLEASE pay particular attention to SUN SALUTATIONS both seated and standing, as we will be teaching these (among other things) to each other in small groups during the live day.
  • Choose a group or demographic that you intend to teach (eg seniors/office workers/ wheelchair users). Be prepared to discuss which practices would be suitable/unsuitable for this group.
  • Choose 3 conditions from the list below (or any conditions that you have an interest in, if not included on this list) and research these with a view to sharing and discussing what they are, symptoms/challenges, contraindications and yoga practices that would be both helpful and unhelpful. 
 
Please choose any 3 of these conditions:
 
  • Muscular (including sarcopenia)
  • Cardiovascular
  • Neurological
  • Osteoporosis
  • Rheumatiod or Osteo Arthritis
  • Dizziness/vertigo
  • High Blood Pressure
  • ME/Fybromyalgia
  • Cognitive (including Dementia/Alzhiemers)
  • Hearing or Sight loss
  • Chronic Pain
  • Pregnancy
  • Cancer
 

What to Bring

  • comfortable yoga clothes
  • a water bottle 
  • notepad & pen
  • phone charger if you would like to record on your phone
  • yoga mat – this can be stored at the Shala while the course is running (If you forget your mat, you may use a studio mat)
  • if you wish to bring a packed lunch you may store this in the fridge – there are plenty of eateries in the area (see link from button below).
  • all other props are provided
 

IN STUDIO | Access to the Shala & Studio Etiquette

  • The access code to the door at street level is 0119 (there are two keypads at the door, please use the keypad on the right)
  • The access code to the door on the third floor is C01XZ (top lock) 
  • If the door does not open, then the bottom lock is locked, and you will need to wait until a member of staff arrives 
  • Please save these codes on your phone. A member of staff may not be available to let you in if you are running late, etc.

  • arrive 10-15 minutes early so we can start promptly at 11:45 am. It is very disruptive for the tutors and the group if students arrive partway through our first session
  • note that the reception area is a food free zone
  • keep the studios tidy during the training – it is not always possible for our cleaners to get in during these intensive training periods 
  • please refrain from mobile phone usage in the studios
