Indu Murthy was born in South India in place called Chennai and comes from a musical background. Her father Mr T.K. Murthy is a cine musician, violinist and composer and has worked in the Indian film industry for more than 45 years.

Indu started her formal training in Indian Carnatic music vocal at the age of 5. Her first guru was Smt. Rajeshwari from the school Temple of fine arts, Chennai. She then began her teaching career in the year 2004 in India, moved to United Kingdom in 2006 to join her husband. She started her music school “Brindavan school of Arts” in 2011 in UK which began with only 3 children and has now grown to 70 plus students.

Indu is passionate about music and still continues to learn Carnatic music from her present guru Smt. Anupama from Bangalore and Hindustani music from guru Shri. Rajasekaran from Chennai.
