Sound Bath, Nidra & Reiki | A Solstice Grace, Gratitude & Healing Evening

An evening to be bathed, healed and nourished by sound, nidra and Reiki energy. On this evening before the Winter Solstice, we will give time and hold space in gratitude for our 2024 journey – for all of the ups and downs of our human experience – pausing there in reflection before moving forward into what we wish to create for 2025.

- Reiki Healing (Note: Reiki may be offered hands-on or hands-off. You may choose on the evening based on your preference.)
Sound Healing
Sound Energy Medicine (SEM) is the science, the art and the practice of combining tactile vibrations with calming music or voice with the aim of achieving beneficial results for health, i.e. pain reduction, muscles relaxation and mind calming.
Sound Therapy is extremely beneficial for Parent & Baby, Children, Pregnancy, Teenagers, Adults, Elderly, Vulnerable Children, Adults & Pets. This particular therapy is also incredible for helping those suffering with Low Self Esteem, ADHD, Autism, Depression, Pain Relief, Recovering from Addiction, Eating Disorders, Anxiety, Asthmatics. This work will also help encourage individuals to promote the value ‘Ahimsa’ non-violence to ones self and to others – group work in this way is incredible for encouraging connection, sense of spirit and self worth, and the most direct way to experience ‘bliss’. 🙂

Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra (Sanskrit for Yogic Sleep) is a powerful technique from the Tantra Yoga tradition. It is both a name of a state and of a practice which creates an altered state of consciousness allowing the practitioner to relax and heal their being, expand their faculty of imagination, enter the realm of subconscious & superconscious, effectively manifest seemingly magical changes in their life, certain karmic debris in their life, clear and assist in reaching a state called by some enlightenment.
Yoga Nidra, although Tantric in origin can be classified as a part of the Raja Yoga system’s Eight Limbs of Yoga, the well-known codification system of the Yogic practices by Patanjali (an Indian sage who lived around 200 B.C.). In fact no less than three of the eight limbs of yoga can be seen in this practice:
1) Pranayama: Control of breathing through specialized exercises and the subsequent ability to amass, control and direct Prana, the life energy force.
2) Dharana: Concentration, cultivation and heightening of inner perceptual awareness. Mindfulness.
3)Pratyharya: Control over the sensory mechanisms of the physical body specifically though exercises which deal with willful withdrawal of the senses and influences of the mind. The influences of most interest being those which do not serve us on the path of enlightenment and/or liberation

Reiki
Reiki is a holistic healing practice, combining spiritual, physical, and emotional elements to promote overall well-being. It is considered one of the oldest healing arts, utilizing life force energy to support the body’s natural healing processes. Reiki can be administered through hands-on techniques, where the practitioner gently places their hands on or just above the recipient’s body, or it can be performed remotely, allowing energy to be channeled across distances.
Reiki healing sessions are often deeply relaxing and can help reduce stress, fostering a sense of peace and balance. They can help maintain a sense of harmony in daily life, contributing to both short-term relief and long-term well-being.

- A water bottle as we advice drinking plenty of water following a sound bath and/or reiki healing.
- Layers and anything you wish to help make you feel warm and comfortable while laying down for an extended period of time.
- A notebook and pen
- Any item you wish to activate or hold energy for your year ahead (a rock, crystal, flower…)

- We advise that you do not have alcohol 24 hrs prior or 48 hrs after a sound bath and/or Reiki healing.

Charli Van Ness
Yoga Teacher, Teacher Trainer, E-RYT-500 hours
Charli teaches Classes, Workshops, Teacher Trainings and Retreats to the community of all ages, especially to those who are vulnerable or in recovery. She has been teaching since 2005 and is an E-RYT 500hrs Yoga Teacher. She has run her own RYS 200hrs Teacher Training School since 2007 and collaborates with the Shala School of Yoga on our 200-hour Teacher Training Course for those wishing to become teachers or for self development. She also teaches on the Shala School of Yoga’s 300-hour Level 2 programme and delivers monthly workshops at the centre.
Being a YACEP Provider, Charli also runs short CPD Courses – KulaKids Teacher Training, Padme Humm Sound Healing CPD Training + Women’s Wellbeing CPD Training. Charli is in absolute JOY when sharing her healing modality ‘Sound Energy Medicine’ (VibroAcoustic Therapy) + Womb Mandala Healing delivered in Groups, Privately + to accompany Art Therapy and Massage Therapists in Treatments.
Daniela Vanasco
Life & Leadership Coach, Reiki Master, Yoga Teacher
Daniela is trained Yoga teacher, Reiki Master, an EMCC Global accredited Life & Leadership Coach, actor, voice over actor, and a Mental Health First Aider. What inspires her is seeing the beauty and potential emerge in those she works with in whatever capacity that is.
In her leadership roles, she has been responsible for coaching and mentoring new managers and leaders. She developed and delivered several seminars over the years, including how to manage mental health in the workplace, how to effectively communicate & resolve conflict and to guide organisations in facilitating the return to work for employees after prolonged absence (including a seminar on how organisations return employees to work en masse following lockdown furlough).
She is passionate about personal growth, transformation and conscious leadership. As a coach, Daniela strives to guide her coachees to to live mindfully, kindly, compassionately and gratefully; to connect with their full selves and allow that wholeness to be expressed authentically, freely and confidently. Through her Reiki sessions, Daniela aims to guide you and your mind-body-emotions-spirit to be in harmony and reach a state of holistic well-being.
