Shala Sanctuary | Connection

10.30–1pm Sunday 28 April 2024 | Charli Van Ness | £35

Our Shala Sanctuary workshops are carefully curated immersive mini-retreats to nourish your body, mind and spirit. Each workshop will focus on a particular theme to explore how we can apply yoga into our daily life to help reset and bring balance, enhance joy and support ourselves to manage the tough days with a ‘yogic’ mindset and create positive, sustainable change.

In this month’s Sanctuary – led by Charli Van Ness –  we explore connection, community and the 5 layers of the being (Koshas) and how we can apply this within our yoga practice.

Yoga Workshop
Connection is why we’re here; it is what gives purpose and meaning to our lives. The power that connection holds in our lives was confirmed when the main concern about connection emerged as the fear of disconnection; the fear that something we have done or failed to do, something about who we are or where we come from, has made us unlovable and unworthy of connection.

Workshop Overview

This workshop  connection to self, to your peers and to the natural world beyond self. Encouraging harmony, unity and humility.

Community and Connection is the fastest route to experiencing ‘joy’. This experiential workshop will include Yoga Philosophy (Koshas), Meditation, Breathwork, Yoga Posture Sequencing, Visual Journey Meditation, Vocals, Self Hand + Foot Massage, Mandala Conscious Creative, Individual + Group Practices.

‘Yoga for Connection’ is to remind us to connect within and beyond self in line with this month’s awareness days ‘World Wildlife Day;’ (3rd March), ’International Day of Happiness’ (20th March) and ‘International Day of Forests’ (21st March). The workshop will raise our attention to help remind us to take a moment to connect with wildlife and nature, remembering we are deeply connected to the ecosystem and balance of life on this planet. When we feel whole, balanced and connected within we are able to relate more deeply with our peers, wildlife, nature and be able to listen to our inner voice clearly. This in turn will lead to more joy and happiness in our lives.
