Jivamukti - a Reintroduction & Exploration of the Practice
Grounded in the original meaning of the sanskrit word ‘asana’ defined as “seat” – seen as our connection to the Earth (and all life) – Jivamukti is an enlightening, soulful and dynamic physical practice that integrates yoga postures, breath work, music, relaxation and meditation.
Jivamukti classes are themed by weaving yoga philosophy into creative vinyasa sequences, giving space to develop awareness and personal insight, empowering not only our practice on the mat, but off the mat as well.
In this workshop, we will focus on backbends – building up to these opening postures and taking our time to explore how we move into and through them. We will delve into the realm of the scriptures, ethics and other limbs of yoga with chanting, philosophy, meditation and deep relaxation. Take what you’ve experienced on the mat into your daily lives to benefit all life.
