Elemental Mandala Workshop - AIR
Air is our thoughts, inspiration & intentions. Air Mandala works with the Heart Chakra, releasing the shoulders and incorporating backbends to open the chest and heart. Expect Camel, Pigeon, Toppling Tree, Pincha variations, Wild Thing transitions and Wheel.
Elemental Mandala Flow is a powerful dancelike set of sequences based around the elements of Earth, Water, Fire & Air and moving 360º around the mat. The sequences align with different parts of the related anatomy and chakra system.
The Mandala is fun, fluid and dynamic, encouraging you to move and express your practice in your own unique way. A Mandala represents the Universe and our internal landscape.
Practicing with the Elements of Earth, Water, Fire & Air provides a sense of the different archetypes that reside within us and in all of nature. The result is integration and a holistic sense of self.
The workshops will close with Yin Yoga relating to and complimenting the element of the practice. Yin is a floor based, meditative form of yoga that targets the connective tissues, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. Yin yoga improves energy circulation, enhancing the flow of Chi in the organs. A short Yoga Nidra will complete the journey.
These workshops will include the opportunity for some playful inversions and arm balances. They are an invitation to take your practice further and to spend time focusing on sequencing and methodology, and deepening into elemental philosophy and psychology. We will take time to workshop specific postures.
