Yamuna Bodyrolling Bliss

A unique Yamuna Bodyrolling workshop to reorganise the mechanics of the body, elongate muscles, release the spine, improve alignment and free restrictions.

Bodyrolling Bliss

2:00 - 4:00 pm | Sunday 16 February | Kelly Lynne Goulon | £40

Workshop Overview

Similar to a deep tissues massage, Yamuna bodyrolling is a unique form of therapeutic work, which empowers us to reorganise the mechanics of the body, elongating muscles, releasing the spine, improving alignment and freeing restrictions with instant effects.

This workshop introduces the unique practice of Yamuna Bodyrolling (YBR). Bodyrolling is a complimentary health system created by the extraordinary visionary Yamuna Zake – a master teacher and healer who has dedicated her life to helping others to create positive change in their bodies. The system works perfectly alongside yoga and other physical activities. It empowers us to maintain our own body structures, thus healing and preventing pain, illness and injury. The system teaches us to reorganise and improve our own anatomy, freeing restrictions in all parts of the body. It is a powerful and profound self-fixing and maintaining tool that everyone can do regardless of age or physical limitations.

Fundamentally, the system enables us to:

  • maintain our bodies, preventing injuries
  • keep the body moving freely and without restriction at every age
  • improve circulation and organ function
  • keep the nerve roots of the spine activated and metabolically strong
  • keep the bones healthy and young to maintain the general health and well-being of the body
  • works wonders on repairing and addressing old injuries that people have long given up on

Please note:

We don’t advise this workshop for pregnancy . . .  unless you are overdue – this workshop might get things moving!

Please contact us if you are pregnant and would like to attend OR if you have any particular injuries or issues, you wish to discuss before booking

This Workshop Includes

Yamuna Foot Fitness using Foot Wakers and Foot Savers.

Your feet are your foundation.  Whatever is happening with your feet is reflected in the structure above, therefore when you take care of your feet, you are also taking care of the rest of your body.

Stimulating your feet with the Foot Wakers and Foot Savers affects circulation, organs, metabolism, relaxes the nervous system and increases body awareness just to name a few.

Experience this intense and amazing feeling of release and freedom your body will feel after a Yamuna Foot Fitness Class.

Yamuna Breath Work

This is one of my favourite modalities to teach.  It addresses our entire being.
It’s the most important thing we do.  The positive effects of the breath work cannot be stressed enough…improving lung capacity, oxygenating your entire body and calming down that noisy thing that goes on in our minds!

During this session, using Pearl and Black balls, you will discover the restricted areas of your body, learn how to release them, and how to continue the work on your own personal journey.

Vitality and Longevity… that’s what the breath work will give you.

Key Benefits of Bodyrolling

This Introductory Yamuna Foot Fitness and Yamuna Breath work will help to reorganise the body. You will be lead through routines that will affect your entire body and, using props created by Yamuna, you will be lead through routines taking you through the entire body:

  • toning and elongating muscles
  • releasing the spine
  • improving alignment
  • expanding the lungs and deepening the breath
  • developing core strength
  • relaxing the nervous system
  • increasing blood flow and circulation
  • stimulating nerve roots and organs
  • increasing metabolism
  • bone stimulation
  • promoting healing

Fundamental Principles of Bodyrolling

YBR is based on these fundamental principles:

  • wherever there is pain, contraction, tightness, inflammation, atrophy or nerve pain, this is in general caused by lack of space
  • the body has a natural logic and muscles release from origin to insertion -YBR re-educates each muscle to release into its optimal space
  • YBR involves stimulation of the bone. Gentle pressure to bone will initiate release of tendons, which will rapidly create positive structural changes
  • exerting traction on a muscle informs the muscle to release from origin to insertion point
  • YBR reorganises the structure of the body so that it can function optimally

The effects are instant and you will experience changes in your body after just one session. Similar but better than any deep massage, Bodyrolling is the ideal compliment any other practice you follow (including yoga and Pilates), enabling you to deepen your practice, open up restricted areas, create space and develop an intuitive understanding of your own anatomy.

Suitable for all levels and all ages. Read more about Bodyrolling on our Blog

About Kelly Lynne

The body has been Kelly’s passion since she was 5 years old, so that’s 60 years!

Kelly was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was was blessed with amazing ballet teachers:  Moscelyne Larkin,  who was an American Ballerina and one of the “Five Moons” Native American Ballerinas, with her husband Roman Jasinski both from the Original Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo under the direction of Serge Diaghilev.

She earned her degree in Dance Pedagogy at The University of Oklahoma where she was, again, blessed to work with amazing teachers:  Yvonne Chouteau and Miguel Terekov (also from the Ballets Russes), Mary Margaret Holt (who was such an inspiration), and Ko Yukohiro (her amazing modern dance teacher who worked with Martha Graham and Jose Limon).

After graduating, Kelly moved to Los Angeles where she danced professionally with the late, great Rudy Perez. After sustaining an injury in 1982, Rudy sent her to work with Ron Fletcher, one of Joseph Pilates disciples and she worked at his Pilates studio for many years. It’s been a beautiful teaching journey spanning over 4 decades!

Subsequently Kelly moved to London in 1993 and worked with Alan Herdman and Trevor Blount and, in 1998, she opened my own Pilates studio in Kensington.

She then trained with Yamuna at Kentish Town Studios and had the honour of assisting Yamuna many times at The Shala. She absolutely fell in love with her work.

Kelly has been teaching Yamuna work for many years and is a Yamuna teacher trainer in the UK.

In her experience as a Yamuna teacher, she has seen how bodyrolling helps people on a profound level, including decades-old injuries or problems being solved in a single session.
The effects of bodyrolling are instant. It is a unique practice that truly empowers us to heal ourselves. It is the perfect compliment to yoga - and definitely the secret to sustaining our bodies through injury, health issues and age. " EM
A complete game changer - I’m never going to have to pay for another massage! " SP (Yoga Teacher)
Bodyrolling is an excellent and unique bodywork practice combining physical release with a deep meditative aspect. Gingi’s enthusiasm for this is evident in his teaching. I would recommend these sessions to anyone.
What a revelation..(bodyrolling) is the most perfect medium. It exercises the joints in a gentle way whilst opening up the skeleton, which in turn improves posture and flexibility. A truly fantastic compliment to the other classes at the Shala.
I really see this as a low impact way to support my body as it ages...
