Partner Pregnancy Yoga & Birth Preparation

Expectant mothers and fathers/partners/friends are invited to this informative and enjoyable afternoon of Partner Pregnancy Yoga, aimed at teaching you and your partner postures and relaxation techniques to prepare for childbirth.
Engaging with your partner in a supportive, physical and fun-filled practice, we will explore ways to cultivate connection, deeper mutual trust, and bonding with each other and your baby. You can work together as a couple, or you can bring a friend, doula or family member.
Doula, childbirth educator and pregnancy yoga teacher, Alexa Dean creates a relaxed, safe atmosphere to help you build physical and emotional strength together as you move through your pregnancy and prepare for the intimate experience of childbirth. Fathers and partners will learn hands-on techniques to help mama through pregnancy and labour. In the course you will:
- practice yoga together and learn tips for labour and birth
- be guided in the gentle practice of yoga postures that are most beneficial during pregnancy, with an emphasis on working in pairs
- learn massage for pregnancy, and for use in labour
- learn movements and positions for labour and birth
- enjoy a bonding meditation with your baby
Pregnancy is a transitional time for women and men, and a great opportunity to step into being a solid, loving team. This workshop is about exploring and honoring these possibilities emotionally, physically, intellectually and spiritually in a safe, supportive space for men and women.
The workshop is held on the first Sunday of every month and is perfect for all trimesters, experience level, and body size (no experience of yoga is necessary). Couples are encouraged to come to the workshop 2 or 3 times to consolidate learning and continue to build connection and trust. The price is per couple.
