Welcome to our Virtual Shala here to keep you sane and grounded and connected. We closed the doors of our Shala on the 17th March and with a giant leap of faith we opened our Virtual Shala the following day. We now have a full schedule of live streamed classes from our amazing team who have been so willing to support the transition to online, despite the challenges it inevitably brings for a bunch of technophobes.
You can find out all you need to know about the super easy process of joining us online here.
We hope that our offerings will continue to give you the sanctuary and community which our physical Shala has offered to many for so many years. There has been so much love and positivity during this time and a great deal of support in the creation of this alternative practice space and we are humbled to hear that it is proving to be ray of positivity in dark times. We never imagined the feedback could be so amazing and the silver lining has definitely been a reconnection with many old students who have moved away, some of them to far corners of the globe.
The word “isolation” brings up a lot of negativity and I am personally trying to look upon this time as going in to retreat. A time to slow down, reflect, reset. For those of us who have a yoga practice, we are blessed, and we can consider this a time for exploration, a way to come closer to ourselves, immediate family, to the world around us.
As a whole, this time of retreat from our gatherings, work and travel should be used with compassion foremost for those who need our support and determination. This includes reaching out to the communities who will need us not to hide away but to be there for them. We must remember to think of others, come together not apart, we need each other. we can do this as we practice our retreat time.
The NHS are amazing. We are so lucky to have these wonderful souls on the frontline. We all have to come together for them. Support them with your calmness and any resource we may be able to give them. Our Virtual Shala will be free of charge to NHS workers during this time.
Use your time well, be productive, stay well and let’s continue to breath and practice together.
love Gingi
