John started to practice Yoga over a decade ago after a significant back injury. This planted the seeds to reevaluate his health and well being from a broader perspective. At the time he was living in New York and had a successful and demanding career in the airline industry. This extensive corporate experience is part of the foundation for his relatable and practical teaching style. He believes in creating a practice that supports your daily life, whatever that may be.
John completed a Sivananda Teacher Training at The Ashram Yoga Ranch in Woodbourne, New York State and went on to complete his 300 hour Advanced Teacher Training with Claire Missingham and he now teaches full time in London.
John's sense of humour and attentive approach instills a distinctly positive, uplifting and accessible class atmosphere. John is fascinated by all aspects of Yoga, from the traditional philosophical roots to the mechanics of anatomy and he incorporates this depth of knowledge into each class he teaches. He is also an advocate for encouraging more men to practice yoga and
he has made this a focus of his teaching over the last few years with classes specifically for men that would otherwise not have practiced. He has loved seeing how these groups have become a supportive community in their own right.
