Imir Frazer

Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow Teacher

A life-long interest in health and movement led Imir to begin practicing yoga in 2000. Having committed to the practice as her philosophy for life, she was keen to gain a deeper understanding of each of the limbs of yoga, as described in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Sharing through teaching became her vocation in 2010 and she studies consistently to deepen her understanding of the vast subject of yoga, as a holistic practice.

Within each practice, Imir recognises that students and teacher share something, as together they step out of life’s potential turbulence, into tranquillity and focussed effort, creating a deep connection, which fine tunes mind, body and spirit. Imir finds it deeply rewarding to facilitate and witness individual growth through teaching, and she sees it as a privilege to be part of a person’s evolution.

As well as having a strong meditative focus to her classes, Imir is interested in the mechanics of movement, and likes to break down movement patterns in order to lay the correct foundations for us to safely approach even the most challenging asanas.

Imir’s teaching style is light-hearted and friendly, her classes are creative and fun, yet deep and challenging, with poses carefully approached to ensure accessibility for all.

Imir is registered E-RYT500 with Yoga Alliance, has completed 200-hour, 300-hour and Ashtanga Yoga teacher trainings, and studied Vinyasa sequencing, Yin, Yogic Arts, Rocket, Tripsichore, Philosophy, Meditation and Anatomy with some of the world’s most highly regarded senior teachers.

Imir teaches weekly scheduled group classes, one to one sessions, small private groups and runs retreats (Good Vibes retreats) in addition to yoga teacher training programmes as the founder of Parampara School of Yoga (Foundation Studies & Teacher Training).
