Children's Yoga

Yoga for kids is taught in a creative, loving and non-competitive way, which encourages teamwork and helps children find inner peace and a sense of self worth. It is fun, active and calming. Through the physical practice, yoga nurtures flexibility and freedom of movement and helps to build healthy bodies and minds. It gives kids a chance to explore being in their bodies and discover the spectrum of amazing things we can do: stretch, jump, be quiet/loud, balance, twist, bend, rest, be alone and in a group, focus, get strong and flexible, sing, play, relax.

Yoga gives the gift of joy and the discovery of being vitally alive through the connection with the breath. Yoga improves concentration and self-confidence and helps children to feel more balanced. The immune system is recharged and the quality of sleep is improved. Moreover, kids are given valuable tools, including mindfulness, meditation and relaxation practices, that they can use now and in the future. Most importantly, yoga provides kids with a space where they can just be and develop their radiant little selves with compassion, allowing them to address others in the same manner.

This is a mixed level ability class for boys and girls aged 6 to 11. 

If you would like to trial a class before joining, you can book a free single class. Select the single class option and on the checkout screen enter the voucher code KidsFreeTrial.

Parents/carers should create a Shala account using the child's name. For emergencies and data protection reasons it is essential that you register the parent/carers contact details on that account rather than the child's.

Bookings are made online for each school term. If you join the class partway through a term you can pay the pro-rata rate per class. Please emailus to make a manual payment so we can deduct the missed classes. If your child is attending regularly and you would like us to take payment each term, please save your card details on their account.

Classes run during term time only and close for school holidays - see online schedule.

  • If your child has a serious medical condition or injury you should discuss this with us before booking a class. 
  • Minor medical conditions or injuries should be discussed with the teacher before class. Please arrive 10 minutes early to discuss.

Kids classes at the Shala are run independently by the teacher and all payments for these services are accepted on the teacher's behalf. Purchases and bookings are made for each term and are non-refundable and non transferable - further terms are detailed within each individual price plan.
