Our Shala Sanctuary sessions are slow moving and contemplative, giving space to connect with your inner world, feed your soul and restore yourself to well-being. Through a soulful combination of gentle Mindful Movement, Breathwork and Meditation you will be coaxed into a deep state of rest, unwinding, rebalancing and nourishing body, mind and spirit. 

Using Mindful Movement, we will first explore how moving into stillness becomes an opportunity for meditation and reflection, to pause, digest, absorb and come together. Focusing on Breathwork will then allow us to connect the physical body and mind, calming the nervous system, and overriding stress. It is like pressing the reset button and by mastering our breath we can clear the mind in preparation for Meditation to truly enter a different state of mind. Learning how to quieten the mind and explore it at a different level of consciousness will improve your ability to manage stress and anxiety, as well as provide freedom from unhealthy thought patterns.

Ellie Grace's sessions are interwoven with dharma/philosophy, weaving strands of breathwork, posture, meditation and discussion of how yoga philosophy deepens our practice off the mat in daily life. 

Shaun Kelly's sessions will include the ancient practice of a guided deep relaxation (Nidra means yogic sleep), which allows us to reach Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses) where the subconscious arises. In this state of waking dreaming, we are guided into a place of self reflection, allowing us to create deep change within. It is possible to understand our deepest needs, release emotional blockages and overcome problems.

If you are in search of harmony, peace, inner insights and improved overall well-being, our Sanctuary sessions lay the foundations. This is a safe and welcoming space to help the mind become Steady and Light. Expect to feel nourished and restored as you cultivate a sense of grounded expansion and peace and melt into a deep state of relaxation.

The classes teach you practices that you can incorporate in to your everyday life so you can fully experience the often-profound benefits. The warmth of sharing the practices creates a space of community and togetherness. Everybody is welcome.

If you are interested in deepening these practices we offer the following monthly workshops that might be of interest:

  • If you are suffering/have suffered from a medical condition (including heart condition, chest pains, dizziness, high blood pressure) or a serious injury, it is essential you first consult your doctor before joining classes. Please then discuss this with us before booking so we can advise you on a personalised programme. 
  • Minor health issues and injuries should be discussed with your teacher before the class. Please arrive 10 minutes early to discuss.
  • Pregnant women of 14+ weeks may join this class – it is essential that you notify the teacher as some modifications will be required and the teacher will advise you accordingly. 
  • Post-natal women may join this class from 3 months. Prior to that we recommend Post Natal Pilates from 6 weeks.
