Beginner & Intermediate Level Yoga

Yoga is a moving meditation which results in calmness and clarity. It maximises body tone, encourages weight loss, detoxifies and increases all-round health, flexibility, strength and balance. The result is a dramatic increase in energy, a stronger immune system and a sense of physical, emotional and spiritual well being. 

These energising yoga classes are for those working at beginner or intermediate level with variations of postures being given to accommodate mixed abilities. These are accessible flowing classes rooted in the practices of Ashtanga (Astanga) Vinyasa or Vinyasa Flow. By moving from posture to posture with a linking vinyasa, the body is realigned in preparation for the next posture and the body's internal heat is increased. Strength, flexibility, grounding and stamina are enhanced. The focus is on establishing the key foundations of yoga:

  • synchronising breath to movement
  • building internal core strength
  • specific detail on alignment
  • building strength and flexibility 
  • understanding the polarity of grounding and lifting
  • deep meditative relaxation process

The classes are taught in a warm environment, which is ideal for safely encouraging flexibility and allowing a gentle detoxification process.

This mixed level class is suitable for beginners and intermediate levels. 

Depending on your fitness levels, you can transition from this level in to Level 2 after 12-18 weeks of practice

  • If you are suffering/have suffered from a medical condition (including heart condition, chest pains, dizziness, high blood pressure) or a serious injury, it is essential you first consult your doctor before joining classes. Please then discuss this with us before booking so we can advise you on a personalised programme. 
  • Minor health issues and injuries should be discussed with your teacher before the class. Please arrive 10 minutes early to discuss.
  • Pregnant women of 14+ weeks may join this class – please notify the teacher as some modifications will be required and the teacher will advise you accordingly. 
  • Post-natal women may join this class from 3 months. Prior to that we strongly recommend doing Post-Natal Pilates from 6 weeks.
