Mindfulness: Self Compassion

The third workshop in our Mindfulness series focuses on self-compassion, loving kindness and cultivating a non-judgemental approach to life.

Mindfulness: Self Compassion

In South London

‘And now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good.’ ~ John Steinbeck

Self-compassion involves treating ourselves kindly, like we would a good friend which we cared about. Rather than continuously judging and assessing ourselves, self-compassion involves bringing kindness toward ourselves as human beings.

This workshop will provide techniques to respond in a kind and compassionate way whenever we are experiencing painful emotions. We all want to ward off pain, but allowing it in — and responding compassionately to our own imperfections without harsh self-condemnation — are key toward living a more fulfilling life. Through a series of discussions, meditations and exercises, we will develop tools to help bring self-compassion into our daily life.

Although these are individual mindfulness workshops themed each month, we encourage students to attend as many as possible to fully engage with the practice and incorporate it in your daily life.
