Upcoming Workshops:

Asthma, Allergies and Respiratory Conditions | 13:00 - 14:15 | 25 March
Anyone who suffers from asthma, allergies or any kind of respiratory conditions knows how intimately connected the breath is with their problem. Aside from inhalers and anti-histamines though few have developed preventative breathing habits and skills to manage, control and even reverse their situation. It's a very misunderstood story as most people are unaware that the breath is the very first indicator of an upcoming attack. By changing our relationship and understanding of what to do with the breath we can gently and greatly improve our ability to breath, removing the constriction, tightness, breathless and panic and buy ourselves some calming breathing space instead.
Smoking cessation | 14:30 - 15:45 | 25 March
"It's the breath that makes them feel good!" Yet it's all the other stuff they put with it that kills. If you'd like to break this once and for all there's a really easy way of doing it that gives you all the things you like about smoking yet takes away all the nasty life ending bits. If you've decided or are ready to make the decision see how to live your life free from the fags. Learning how to get what you require from the breath can stop you giving away your power, your money, your health and your freedom. It's never been easier to breath easy.
Cancer | 16:00 - 17:15 | 25 March
Since Nobel Prize winner Otto Warburg pronounced in 1966 that "the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal cells by a fermentation of sugar" there has been acknowledgement of the relationship between oxygen and cancer in approximately 80 per cent of conditions. There is huge interest in hyperbaric treatment that also points to the influence oxygen may play. Regardless of the preventative effects this may have, what we do know is that breathing techniques influence and can moderate the difficulties that come with the necessary treatments people currently undergo. As a complementary method of caring the breath is a coping method par excellence.
Weight Change | 13:00 - 14:15 | 17 June
Did you know that the same part of the brain that tells us we're hungry for food is also the part that tells us we're hungry for air? If you get these wires crossed and your signals mixed its no surprise you're never properly satiated. We're putting in the wrong type of fuel! There's a super easy way of changing this through the breath that doesn't require any counting of calories, weird combinations or fadish behaviour. It's so simple that if the secret gets out it would likely finish the multi-billion diet industry because it's free to do. It doesn't even require will power. If you can spare 5 minutes a couple of times a day before food this time next year you can look like you did when you were last at your ideal weight. What have you got to lose apart from the body image you no longer require?
Grief, End of Life, Coping with Caring | 14:30 - 15:45 | 17 June
Is anybody spared these universal hardships? Is there any possibility of "good grief?" As many of us become untrained nurses to our loved ones it can be a frightening, frustrating and lonely time. As a family, we are continuing to go through these issues and it astounds me how little there is out there for us, and how misunderstood the processes are. The breath may not be able to bring our loved ones back to life though it plays the most intimate part in all our lives, and while there is life there is breath. That breath can make things better, at least a little, for those around us and particularly for ourselves as we're preparing for the 'theatre of parting' and coping with caring.
Menopause | 16:00 - 17:15 | 17 June
The first and best way of managing hormones is to balance the systems of the body. The easiest way to do this is through the breath. Without noticing our breath changes prior to the onset of the parts of the life change that we'd rather do without. To learn how to regulate, control and prevent the fluctuations in temperature and mood there is a way of breathing that allows women to have an altogether more pleasant and empowering way of navigating their life change. It most useful, rapidly effective and easy to learn. The breath gives you back the 'remote control' to your own life.
Injuries and Musculoskeletal Issues | 13:00 - 14:15 | 9 September
Problems and pain in the back, neck, shoulder, hip, elbows, knees and ankles can be relieved, reduced and in many cases removed if its over 3 months in duration. Even if its intermittent, re-occurring, nagging, long-lasting or feeling permanent your pain is not your fate. With new injuries and issues its important also to know how to speed along the natural repair mechanisms of the body. For those looking to get better, faster - help is at hand. Breathing techniques previously used secretly in martial arts for healing and strengthening can now be applied to rectify our longer lasting discomforts.
Heart Palpitations and Arrythmias | 14:30 - 15:45 | 9 September
We've probably all heard of the heart's natural pacemaker. Far fewer know about our breathing pacemaker. It's our breathing pacemaker that sets our heart pacemaker. In many cases palpitations and arrythmias aren't serious in themselves, however the affect they have on our peace of mind and quality of life can be. It can be really concerning, distracting and frightening to feel like the heart has a mind of its own and is doing its own thing. Balancing the breath can even out the randomness and bring back a more regular, pleasing heart function.
Stomach Problems, Gastric Issues and IBS | 16:00 - 17:15 | 9 September
If you've been doubled up in spasms, can't go, can't stop going or sometimes all of the above you'll know its a miserable situation. Most medicines that we frequently take may work in the short term however very rarely remove the underlying conditions that are putting us through this in the first place. Although many people look to blame their diet there is often something more fundamental going on - the opinion the body has of the risk or fear in its environment. Very often this is a non-conscious over-reaction that causes unnecessary side effects as we temporarily shut down or impair our digestion. We can learn how to rectify this and massively improve our situations, through learning how to change our internal environment. Brain science has recently shown that the breath is connected to fear and memory. Change the breath and we change how this is expressed throughout our bodily systems.

We would love to hear from you to know which clinics you are most interested in and of any other clinics you might like us to run. Please email us your feedback. Read more about the Breath for Life concept below.

The Breath for Life Series

An astonishing 95% of our energy comes in from the breath; 70% of what the body eliminates goes out through the breath. The breath, then, is the first place we should look to affect change. If a car isn't running properly, we check the engine. Science shows nearly everyone in our society is currently over-breathing, making this a number one culprit behind stress, insomnia and disturbed sleep, anxiety, depression and negative thinking, chronic pain, asthma, migraine headaches, panic attacks and even back problems and weight gain.

The optimal rate for adults to breathe is between 3 & 6 breaths a minute. We typically are taking between 12 and 20. The result is, we are clinically 80 per cent stressed before we've even got out of our chairs. By balancing the breath we can bring back balance to our systems and bring a balanced breath back to balance our lives. Researchers have found that most people use less than 20% of the surface area of their lungs. Simple practices can increase this three or four fold over a year. Its like having five gears to your car and never getting out of first. Learn how to effortlessly switch on your own personal cruise control, bringing with it a greater control over everything that life presents. After all shallow breathing leads to shallow thinking and panic breathing leads to panic. As the buddha said "the path to enlightenment begins and ends at the breath". This is Breath For Life.

In these Breathing clinics and Breath for Life workshops we share the most important discoveries in breath research. Neuroscience shows that there is a breath rate for you that is your own personal sweet spot where head, heart, lungs and the major organs of the body all resonate and a coherent, syncronised rhythm waves and pulses throughout all your systems. This brings with it a harmony, wellness and great feelings of relaxation, zest, energy and control quite unlike anything you're currently experiencing. It's simple. It's effective. It's life changing.

Whatever it is you'd like to improve in life, there's a breath for that. Be it general health improvements, better sleep, reducing stress, pain management, increasing strength, optimising performance, stopping intrusive thoughts, bringing a greater depth to meditation or simply upping the quality of life and its longevity, there are easy ways of achieving what you'd like by working with the breath.

Brought on by his recovery from serious illness and three years of continuous research and investigation, Ben Wolff shares his findings from both ancient wisdom traditions and modern science in ways that are open and accessible to everyone. In each workshop you can expect to hear what's most useful, rapidly effective and easy to learn and participate in simple and safe breath practices that have worked in over 150 countries around the world. Find out how to do what you'd like to in sessions that have literally changed countless lives. After all, you are how you breathe...
